Tasks

The tasks of the AdV

The state administrations responsible for state surveying and the real estate cadastre work together in the Association of Surveying Administrations of the States of the Federal Republic of Germany (AdV) in order to deal with technical matters of fundamental and supra-regional importance with the aim of uniform regulations. The necessary resolutions are made by the plenary session of the AdV. 

The tasks of the AdV include:

  • the development of recommendations and binding regulations for a uniform approach to the creation, maintenance and further development of the geodetic bases, the topographical survey, the official topographical-cartographic information system, the topographical state maps and the real estate cadastre - in short, the basic geodata, as defined by the AdV at its plenary meeting on September 28th and 29th, 2005 in Magdeburg: 

    "Geobase data is data from official surveying that verifies and describes the landscape, the properties and the uniform geodetic spatial reference in an application-neutral manner. They are the basis for specialist applications with a spatial reference. 
     
  • the joint implementation of transnational projects 
     
  • cooperation in the development and application of technical procedures, particularly in the area of ​​basic surveying, topographical-cartographic information systems and automated real estate cadastres 
     
  • the submission of opinions on draft laws 
     
  • advising on technical questions in organizational, personnel, training and examination matters as well as cost and usage law matters 
     
  • cooperation with related organizations and bodies as well as with institutions for geodetic research and teaching 
     
  • the representation of the official German surveying sector in the European Union and in international institutions as well as cooperation with foreign countries, including in the field of development aid

The following working groups were founded to address specific technical questions in detail and to support the plenary session:

  • Spatial reference (AK RB)
  • Geotopography (AK GT)
  • Real estate cadastre (AK LK)
  • Information and communication technology (AK IK)
  • Public Relations and Marketing (AK PRM)

The following working groups were also formed:

  • Real Estate Valuation Working Group (AG ImmoWert)
  • Smart Mapping Working Group (AG Smart Mapping)
